Your whole life's wealth building in one view
A viewing mode: the family's combined wealth at the back, each person's own flows in front. Editing happens via the person chips and the drawing board.
The basic version answers the question "will my money last". Pro answers the question "how sensitive is my plan to its assumptions, and on what terms does it hold" — it unlocks the fixed assumptions for tuning and deepens the analyses. All calculation still stays in your own browser, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Your own expected returns and volatilities for every asset class — and up to three custom classes (e.g. a real estate fund, gold). The correlation matrix brings genuine diversification benefit into the calculation: the basic version assumes full correlation, which is safely conservative but crude. Plus a custom glidepath, your own inflation assumption and, if you wish, a fat-tailed return distribution (Student's t).
Ongoing charges (TER) eat into returns realistically. The capital income tax rates and threshold are editable, and the deemed acquisition cost can be extended to monthly retirement withdrawals too.
Alongside a fixed monthly income, a percentage of the portfolio and guardrails (the withdrawal level is corrected if it drifts out of the band). Retirement spending can be phased: active years, quieter years and final years each at their own level.
A path count of 300–20 000, selectable range percentiles (P5–P95, P10–P90, P25–P75), a changeable seed — and three stress scenarios drawn straight onto the chart: a bear market right at retirement, stagflation and a lost decade.
The depletion curve shows the probability that your funds have run out by a given age. Tornado sensitivity tells you which assumption your plan is most sensitive to. Sustainable income by retirement age draws what every year of postponement is worth. On top of that, up to three named scenarios as parallel ghost curves.
All Pro assumptions are your own assumptions — the service doesn't recommend numbers or portfolios, and the calculation isn't investment advice. In Pro mode the My plan document includes an assumptions appendix where every deviation from the base assumptions is written out.

Varallisuuspolku shows your whole life's finances in one view: saving, life's big purchases with their loans, and retirement income with the earnings-related pension and taxes. Goal states solve for you the sustainable monthly income, the earliest retirement age or the required savings — at 75–95 % confidence if you wish. The whole family fits in: your spouse's and children's paths are combined, and the Tulkki assistant (✦ Ask AI) explains the results in plain language. My plan gathers everything into a printable document you can hand, say, to a wealth manager as a basis for discussion.
The drawing board (the chart's ⛶ button, or F) is the fastest way to plan: grab the curve, an event or the retirement age line and drag — the machine prices every move. The tour (in the ☰ menu) walks through the service in nine clicks. Pro mode (the toggle at the top of the panel) unlocks professional controls: your own return assumptions, correlations, withdrawal strategies and analyses. Examples (in the Life events card) gives you a ready-made starting point for different life situations. Compare (in the ☰ menu) saves the current plan as a ghost curve, against which you can see the effect of your changes. Family (the + button in the Basics card) brings your spouse and children into the same picture: a combined curve and success probability, shared purchases split in half, and transfers to loved ones. Plans (at the top of the My plan page) keeps several plans — your own and your loved ones' — safe in the same browser: switch, duplicate, compare side by side and export. The annual table (below the chart) shows the numbers year by year and exports them as CSV. Ctrl+Z undoes the latest change, and an event can be duplicated from its edit window (say, a second child). The My plan page's Copy share link shares the plan and doubles as a backup — the whole plan is in the link. The app can be installed on your home screen (PWA), and then it works even without a network connection.
The ✦ Ask AI tab on the right edge opens Tulkki, which explains your plan's numbers in plain language and puts them in context against your age group's anonymous comparison data. It can also try out changes (“try retirement age 62”) and compare options side by side — impacts are shown first as euro differences, and your plan isn't touched until you apply the change yourself. Quick actions draft a question list for a wealth manager meeting or challenge your plan's weak points, and on opening Tulkki raises a few observations.
The division of labour is strict: the calculation engine computes, the AI only explains. The numbers in the answers are bound directly to the engine's results, so the figures Tulkki quotes can't be made up by the language model. When you ask, only your question, an anonymous form of the plan (the same identifier-free content as in the comparison data) and the engine's key figures are sent to the server — the proxy server is stateless, stores neither questions nor answers, and its code is open source (the language model is Anthropic's Claude). Without an access code you have 5 questions per day. Tulkki does not give investment advice.

Your plan never leaves your device without your separate, case-by-case permission. All calculation happens entirely in the browser, and the plan is saved to the browser's own storage (localStorage) on this device only. The service uses no cookies and collects no personal data; fonts are served from the site's own server. Visitor counts are measured with Plausible analytics, which is cookie-free and doesn't identify visitors — it only counts page loads and never sees the contents of your plan. The exceptions concerning plan data are voluntary and happen only at your own initiative: the anonymous comparison data (below), whose contents you see in full before sharing, and any question you ask Tulkki, which travels with the same anonymous, identifier-free form of the plan (see Tulkki above).
Note: Share link packs your entire plan into a web address. Anyone with the link can see the plan's contents, so share it only with people you want to show it to.
On the My plan page you can, if you wish, share your plan anonymously into the comparison data and see how people of different ages plan their finances and progress on the road to wealth. The shared data contains no identifiers — no names, no titles you've given, no IP address — amounts are rounded and the date is stored at month level, and shared plans can't be linked to each other or to anyone. Distributions are published as open data only once an age group has at least 30 plans. The receiving server code is open source in the same GitHub repo (the palvelin/ folder). Sharing doesn't commit you to anything. The full open data: Statistics. If you chose "No thanks", you can reset the choice.
Return assumptions: stocks 7 %, bonds 3 %, cash 1.5 % per year. Inflation adjustment 2 %/yr (optional). Monthly savings can grow yearly (wage growth). Loans are computed as annuity loans. The uncertainty range (P10–P90) and the success probability are computed from the same set of random market paths — up to 5 000 paths in background computation. The investment account can be modelled as a book-entry account, an equity savings account or an insurance wrapper — the tax treatment follows each. In family mode everyone's paths are simulated in the same market world, so the family's combined success probability is genuinely shared.
Retirement and taxes: you can enter an estimate of your statutory earnings-related pension as monthly income — it reduces the withdrawals needed from investments and can start at a different age than retirement itself. Retirement withdrawals can include Finnish capital gains tax (30 % on annual gains up to 30 000 €, 34 % above that); tax is charged only on the profit share of each withdrawal, i.e. the difference between the value and the remaining acquisition cost.
Selling assets: an asset (say, a home or a cottage) can be sold at a chosen age: its value moves into investments, any remaining loan is paid off and capital gains tax is charged on the profit. The taxable gain is capped by the deemed acquisition cost (40 % of the sale price when you've owned the asset for at least 10 years; otherwise 20 %), and the sale of your own home can be marked tax-free. Confidence level: the retirement goal can also be solved so that at least 75, 85 or 95 % of random market paths succeed — instead of just the expected trajectory. The earnings-related pension estimate and the tax model are indicative simplifications, not official calculations. Cash flows are annual totals on the expected path; wealth is the situation at the start of each year of age. The CSV opens directly in a spreadsheet.
